Lenin Statue Bust

The statue-bust of Vladimir Lenin in Mauritius is a monument erected in honour of the revolutionary leader of the Soviet Union. Although Mauritius has no direct historical ties to the Soviet Union, the bust of Lenin was erected as a symbol of solidarity with socialist movements in the mid-20th century, when many countries in Africa and Asia were striving for independence and seeking new political bearings.
