Eureka Falls

Updated: September 14, 2024

Set amidst lush greenery, the Eureka Falls in Mauritius are a true natural oasis that attracts locals and tourists alike. They are located next to the colonial Eureka House - on the river that flows through the gardens of the estate, and create a picturesque natural scenery around the house.

Eureka Falls consists of several cascades that run down the cliffs and flow into small natural pools below. The waterfall is not one of the highest on the island, but its tropical setting surrounded by lush vegetation and cliffs makes it a very scenic spot.

A visit to the waterfall is often combined with a tour of the estate, where you can learn about the colonial architecture and life of the time.

How to get there

Eureka House is located in the district of Moka, about 12 kilometers from the capital Port Louis. The house is conveniently accessible by cab or rented car. Travel time from Port Louis is about 20-30 minutes.
