Pereybere Beach
Updated: September 7, 2024
Pereybere Beach is small, only 200 meters long and 100-150 wide, and one of the most popular beaches on the north coast of Mauritius, located between Grand Baie and Cap Malheureux. Its main feature is the nearby lagoon, which is deep enough for snorkeling.
When choosing it for your vacation, keep in mind that on weekends the beach is often crowded with people, both locals and tourists.
There are 3 areas on the beach:
- the right side of the beach (rocky) is home to owners of catamarans, boats and surfboards who rent them out
- the central zone of the beach is marked by buoys for swimming
- the left part of the beach is used by water sports enthusiasts
The beach infrastructure includes sun beds (for a fee), showers, changing rooms and a public toilet.
Like many other beaches it is separated from residential areas by a strip of cazaurine trees and palm trees. Along the beach there are numerous stalls with fast food and fruit, and a few meters away there are restaurants with Mauritian, Chinese and international cuisine. The most popular establishments here are Cote d'Azur, Wang Thai and Gourmet Grill Mauritius.
Pereybere Beach is easily accessible via the main coastal road from Grand Baie.
