Grand Baie beach

Grand Bay Beach is located in the resort town of the same name in the north of Mauritius. It is one of the most lively and popular places on the island due to its beautiful views of the bay, a variety of entertainment and developed infrastructure.

Grand Baie beach has a jetty - here you will find fishing boats, yachts, boats and other tourist vessels such as glass bottom boats or catamarans.

The sand on the beach is more of a light yellow color, and it is not as soft and white as other beaches in Mauritius. Due to the proximity to the aforementioned marina and the active water movement, the sand is dense and even a little stony in places.

Infrastructure of Grand Bay Beach

The beach has a well-developed infrastructure as it is one of the busiest resort towns in Mauritius. Along the entire beach you will find parking lots, toilets and benches, as well as numerous cafes, restaurants, bars and a store. And in the town itself, two large shopping centers, La Croisette Shopping Mall and Couer de Ville with a Super U hypermarket, are located close to the beach.

Things to do on Grand Bay Beach

• Water sports: Water skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, catamaran and kayak rentals are all available on the beach
• Boat and yacht excursions from the beach to the nearby islands of Gabriel, Flat island and Île aux Serpents Island
• Nightlife: After sunset, Grand Bay becomes the center of nightlife. It offers bars, clubs and parties right on the beach

How to get to Grand Baie Beach

Grand Baie Beach is located in the north of the island within the town of Grand Baie itself, and the road is well marked. From the capital, Port Louis, the journey will take about 30-40 minutes (about 25 kilometers).
