Alexandra Falls

Alexandra Falls is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in Mauritius, located in the center of the island, in the Black River Gorges National Park. The water here surmounts a height of about 30 meters surrounded by dense tropical forests.

To visit Alexandra Falls, you can take a short hiking route in Black River-Georges National Park. The route leads from the parking lot to the observation decks that offer panoramic views of the falls. The walk from the parking lot to the observation deck takes only a few minutes.

The best time to visit the falls is between October and April, during this period the rainy season brings much more water to the rivers and the falls look particularly powerful.

Alexandra Falls how to get there

Alexandra Falls is located in the center of the island, within the Black River-Georges National Park. The waterfall is most conveniently reached by car. If you drive from the capital Port Louis, the road will take about 1-1,5 hours.
